haha... Thats what I have, and I LOVE it!

If you do it in less then around 10-15 minutes, you shouldn't lose any of your presets and the computer will still have all your current settings.

If you take longer, then the computer will 'reset' back to it's most basic modes and it will have to 'learn' your driving style again..

The biggest thing to remember, if your computer has reset, to turn on the engine, but don't touch the gas pedal at all. The idle might jump around for a couple of moments. That's normal. The computer has to find it's idle. After a couple minutes of idling, you should be fine, then you can drive it as you normally do and it'll re-learn your habits and such!

Good luck!

Mitch

i still have the original ford battery in my truck, so thats what I'll be replacing it with.

Optima are very good but getting 8 years from the factory one is great and is why I'll buy another.

HI!... The only reason I like the OPTIMA "YELLOW TOP" battery is that it can be totally drained over 300 times and still except a FULL charge. My factory battery was discharged 4 times at the dragstrip running my electric fans and that was it for it.

Thanks i am going to stay with Motorcraft i think:thumbsup:

If you want to keep from re-booting the PCM, connect a 9 volt battery thru a cigerette lighter socket.
This keeps enough power on to keep it from re-booting the PCM while changing the battery.
Be sure to remove the hood bulb first and keep the doors closed until the change is done.
A little 9 volt can't power those bulbs.

I thought you did not have to re-boot anything:confused:

Bluegrass 12-28-2006 10:12 PM

Take the battery out and it re-boots wehether you want it to or not.
Re-booting clears all the tables back to stock unlearned condition.
No matter how fast you do it, you don't know if you was fast enough.
Truck still runs either way.

built54 12-28-2006 10:20 PM

It just resets the computer, nothing to worry about.

Narvous 12-28-2006 10:33 PM

Will it still run as good:)
