Stalling

My truck is an automatic but it stalls sometimes at low speeds taking tight turns like getting in and out of an parking space for example. What could be the problem?

Check the fuel pressure? Does it stall when you turn the wheel to lock? This will strain the power steering pump and load the motor, but it shouldn't stall.

Sounds like your Idle Air Control (IAC) valve needs to be removed and cleaned or replaced. Once removed, you can clean it with carb. cleaner.

Yes. When I came home from work today I slowed down to go into my driveway and the rpm was jumping from 100 to 1200 rpm. The engine I guess was trying to keep the truck from stalling. Could it be the transmission?

sounds like idle air control valve..there is a needle in there that needs to move , its probably full of carbon etc... making it stick. some carb cleaner and a q-tip works well.

I have the same stalling problem as described. I replaced the IAC about 1 year ago and that is not the problem. Any other ideas. Could the torque converter not be disengaging?
