Spark Plug Wire Connection on Coil Packs?
I've gotten myself into a pickle  here and I can't seem to find the information I need.
I'm in the middle of an engine swap; I'm installing a 2004 4.6L to replace my 1997 4.6L. Of course to do this I'm switching the '04 to Coil Packs and Spark Plug Wires. Here is where I run into a problem. I marked all my old wires at the plugs and coil packs but it would seem that my marking wasn't as clear as I'd thought it was. I have 2 wires that are marked on the coil pack end with what apears to be the same marking. So I've a 50 / 50 chance to get it right. I'd rather I was 100% dead on. I've searched the forum, my tech manual and in Mitchells to no avail. Can anyone tell me the which Coil Pack terminal goes to which Spark Plug. Please, :help: Doug |
Eliminate the other 6 numbers that you CAN read & tell us which 2 you're having trouble with. The coil packs usually have numbers on them, indicating the 2 possible cylinders depending on which group that pack used for.

With the terminal on left in both pics:
Drivers - 4 7 8 2 Pass - 1 6 3 5 |
Just to make sure I understand you correctly, I've modified what you typed. Is this correct?

Dan - My coil packs have deen relocated, so referring to the engine location will not be reliable, and that is why I marked the cp's with the plug numbers. So looking down on each cp with the connector on the left for both sides-
Driver's P 4 7 L U G 8 2 Pass P 1 6 L U G 3 5 I hope this helps. |
