My magic 8-ball says........ "my sources say no" so I guess I will have to ask my spirit guide, the piguffalo.

Why don't you ask someone like Autozone to see what that light means. Because most of us are a little lacking in the psychic department.

Your truck is trying to tell you something, I'd go to the local auto parts store for a free basic code read or just pony up the bucks for the dealership full bore diagnostic.

I used to have a step-mom and her engine light came on and all she did was still drive the car around for over amonth until one day it did go out..... after the engine blew up due to low oil. Asked why see didn't tell anyone and she figure it would go out sooner or later. Just one of the many reasons she's not my step-mom anymore.....thank god.

The monkeys in the zone don't know squat about pulling EEC-IV codes, and you don't need them to do it anyway. Just get a paperclip & read this thread. If it gets boring, skip to the colored text.

Mechanical parts- yes.
Electrical parts- no.

I don't understand why you're telling him things won't swap. The engine is virtually identical inside & out, other than the plenum. Injectors, sensors, actuators... There are plenty of electrical parts that will swap just fine. Here are a bunch of photos of a '75 Bronco into which I put an '88 F150's 5.0L & AOD, but I used an '89 Crown Vic plenum & some of the CV sensors/actuators. The '88 truck EEC works just fine with them. In fact, I just moved that truck back to my house a few minutes ago so I can finish up the interior & get it ready for use as a daily driver.
