Sorry to bring back an old thread, but I have this same problem. So frustrating. I'm going to cut a hole in my passenger side floorboard so I can get to the back of the intake. Does anyone have any advice or a picture of where the hole should be cut?

 

just fix simular problem in my 2004 f150 it was my mass flow air sensor connector. Crank truck move and twist wires see if truck reacts mine cut off and stumbled when i did it

 

What is a Bad vapor management valve? is it a Vapor Canister purge valve? My 04 f150 is doing exactly as you described. it's already a pig on gas, this makes it worse, lol. i just want to get the correct part. let me know, thanks!

Since that post and the last time derhicks was signed in were both 13 years ago, I doubt he's going to respond to your question.

I remember seeing Ford refer to the Vapor Canister Purge Valve as a Vapor Management Valve on a TSB for our trucks. So I'd say it's a safe bet to say that's probably what he replaced.
