changing the clutch was easy it only took about 20 mins its on a 4.2 well anyways the ac still wont work and also i cant get the darn horn to work ether ive got power to it and change the relay still wont work

Did you know there is a system pressure switch. If faulty or system charge is to low it will not allow the compressor to be run for naught, plus there could be other reasons there is no power.
It is easy to test the circuit by shorting the switch plug to see if the clutch pulls in. A voltmeter check would have indicated no power and a resistance check would have shown the clutch was good. It become expensive to guess, after awhile. |
What made you think it was the clutch in the first place?
|
theres power to the clutch
thats why i though it was the clutch

You did put the shims that were under the flexplate on the old clutch back onto the new one, didn't you? Or did you replace just the field coil?
|
A voltmeter check 'can' fool you. You could still measure voltage with a meter but thru a resistance too high to allow the clutch to pull up.
|
if only 1 strand of wire is connected, you will measure voltage but there isn't enough to carry a load.
|
An open ground from the clutch coil will also give that symptom. Check for voltage also on the "low" side of the coil, if found, the ground is open or has excessive resistance.
