Best way to get more from the 4.6

I've been watching what everyone does to squeeze power out of the 4.6
i havent done anything to really get power but i'll probably get a superchip tuner in the next month or so, i have a k&n filter and 40 series muffler(i might put high flo cats on it)

So gimme some insight on what the next item for my wallet to cry over i'm at 155,000 miles so superchargers out

and lets hear and see what everyones doin to their 4.6, and 5.4 if u wern't lucky enough to get a smaller less powerfull motor---but still doesnt rev as high--- :D

I've done gibson headers, magnaflow high-flow cats, borla cat back, X Cal 2, airforce 1 intake, MSD coil packs, accel wires, denso iridium plugs, bbk 75 mm throttle body, bored out plenum, underdrive pullies, and a gatorback belt.

ive got Ported Throttle Body, Proted Plenum, ported intake manifold. Gen 3 Bosch injectors, NGK irridium plugs, MSD 40ohm wires, Accel 42kv coil packs, efan, Gibson 409 stainless headers. true dual exhaust with H Pipe and imco mufflers. ebay intake. PI MAF sensor. and soon to get a new tune for my Xcal2 and im about to make some traction bars and lower it. and i just rolled over 134K the other day still at stock compression
soon to go on VT shortblocks stage 4 crane cams and stage 2 portes head with oversize valves... but that will be a ways down the road... and about 6,000 later lol

I have true duals with an H-pipe, functional ram air hood that feeds into the stock airbox, and MSD coil packs. I have the 5-speed, makes it a fun truck to drive.

My question is... Why? All it's gonna do is make yer fuel economy that much worse, and IT'S A TRUCK ferchrissakes... what you need to do 0-60 in 11 seconds instead of 12.5? As if it matters..

Trucks are for hauling crap, not going fast.

:lurk:

I've seen Neal's truck on here, and it is badass, but he's got at least $100 g's in it (unless he's related to Troyer)... way too spendy for me.

I've got an $9000 bike that'll do 0-60 in about 2.9 sec.. and it can turn too! My truck is just fine stock.

PI Swap from a 99+ motor could probably get you about 40hp, 4.6's love intake and exhaust mods as well.

A tune is a great place to start but if you are going to do intake and exhaust mods I would do them first before the tune. Electric water pump, aluminum driveshaft, gears, if you have a belt driven fan swapping out to an electric unit will free up a few ponies. Thats about as far as bolt ons go after that you have to go into the motor with things like cams, P&P heads, etc.

You could also get a shift kit for your tranny, won't give you any more power but it will firm up the shifts helping acceleration.
