engine help needed!!

i own a 1999 f150 screw, long bed, rear wheel drive...

first problem, when im accelerating the ride gets really rough, like the truck seems to be struggling to accelerate, especially up hills...

second problem, when i sometimes accelerate hard, i hear a loud CLINK, and the accelerator stalls for a bit...

these two things really concern me, i hate having to drive it like this, could someone please help out!!!?

Which engine and transmission?

Do you have a CEL/SES light on? Have you had codes read?

Please clarify your symptoms. The first sounds like a misfire, the second doesn't make any sense.

Auto tranny? I'm guessing it could be possible early signs of sparkplug? I don't know, so dont' quote me.

But i've heard people had misfire problems then the car would just pop a plug at some random time.

Get it looked at if you can, if not hope someone on here is moer helpful then i am!!!

Just today, I noticed while driving, when i accelerate, theres a horrible noise like a metal grinding noise/high pitched chirping... i don't know if that made any sense, but it sounds horrible. All my fluids are topped up & I added Lucas Treatments into my Oil & Transmission.

Definitely a misfire. How many miles do your current plugs/wires have on them? It may be time for a tune up.
