they are about 3.77 each from walmart and are wet filter's for shopvac's they will increase the high flow filter filtering ability and also keep alot more water out.

keeps water if any is splashed up from getting sucked into the intake. and also increases the filters filtering ability since we all know the damned K&N's dont filter for crap...

You need to market those things. Has a nice ring to it.

Most hardcore off roaders in the southwest use a prefilter. The sand around here can get to be a very fine silt that will plug a normal filter in a couple of hours of off roading. With the prefilter, you just remove it, dust it off and keep going.

If you look at most off road racers, they will have one.

I just stick with a regular paper filter and dont worry about the rest. I drive around so much dust and sand that I would probably ruin my engine with one of them k and n jobs, plus with a paper filter I dont have to worry about spending $30 or $8 for foam or any kind of "filter prophylactics".

OK, I gotta ask - if you think K&N's "dont filter for crap" why on Earth would you keep it on your truck ?

Just wondering ???
