Just my 2 cents....

1. You can replace your coolant if you want to, but you need to use a 50/50 blend. This will give you protection from freezing to sub zero temps, but most important, it helps prevent corrosion. It also increases the boiling point of the water, so if you have engine trouble (stuck thermostat etc.), and your truck runs hot, it won't boil. This is most important if you open the coolant resevoir. The sudden drop in pressure will cause the water to instantly vaporize resulting in a very very very violent steam explostion. The reason cooling systems are pressurized is because it increases the boiling point of water.

If you're wife's head is under the hood trying to figure out what's wrong, she could get burned very severly if the truck blows off a radiator hose, or she opens the coolant resevoir. Either way, you'll be glad you put a 50/50 blend in the truck!!!!!

2. I've never replaced my coolant (160,000 miles) and I don't have any trouble with overheating and I live in ga.
