I did them myself Gibson shorty's and was in no hurry took them off one night after work and put the new ones on next night, you will need the u joints for your ratchet and extension and some sockets. I have very little patience for jobs like this and I would rate the job a 6 out of 10
10 being hardest. Remove the tire and inner fenderwells and have at it!!

I too put Gibson shorties on my truck though it's a F-250.
Install was fairly easy on mine.

I am also debating adding headers to my truck.... It looks like everybody is going with the Gibson Shortys. I was debating between these ($500) or some ($250) ebay knockoffs... I'm not shure yet.

+1 took me about 8 hours to put em on with air tools. the major PITA is the EGR tube needs tweaking. on the drivers side.

Is it better to get stainless or cerametallic coated?

ceramic coating wears off after 2-3 years depending on the abuse.. stainless have a lifetime warranty.and if u dont want the heat emission just wrap em with some fiberglass and it will cool them down.

I had to replace my egr tube.. It was like $80 and some change for a stainless one. Stainless is defenetly the way to go, as far as exhuast parts go.

Does the cerametallic coating really shield that much heat?

I've got a post in almost every thread now!!!! Guess i'm just bored.

was we did was removed the EGR tube from the intake and header.. then put it on a few turns onto the header so it was lined up. then tightend it onto the EGR valve then tightend it onto the header. then it just needed some slight tweaking to get the EGR to move 1/4" so it would bolt back onto the intake plenum
