PI Heads

What year did they start putting PI Heads in trucks I picked up a 99 f150 singlecab 4x4 and do not know if it has the PI Heads?

99 was the first PI heads I believe.

pi heads have square shape intake ports, and non-pi heads have oval shape intake ports. that is the easiest way to tell the two apart.

There's some pictures in this thread:

define square intake ports? on the PI heads... cause i dont see the difference.. or what makes them square. its more of a flat oval..
