What does this engine noise sound like to you? Rod or carbon knock?
Hi guys,
I uploaded a few movie/audio files of teh noise my 2000 Navi makes. It will do it most of the times when i start, for liek a sec and then when I rev the engine at 2k and over, but only after it warms up. When I drive, I no longer hear it, but will hear it sometimes when I let go of the gas..... An it be the cats? Let me know what you guys predict. Files are located at http://www.eowh.com/navi I think this is the clearest sound file...http://www.eowh.com/navi/MOV01267.MPG but feel free to listen to rest. Thanks for helping |
i think ur hyper drive isnt engaging ludacris speed properly causing the continuum transfunctioner to rattle around:-p

That's the same sound my F-150 was making about two months ago as well as the same exact symptoms you described. I had to have my crank turned and had to install new bearings. I spent a total of about $400 to fix the problem but that was with me doing the work. I was quoted $1500 by a local shop and that was the best deal I found. Take it to a shop and see what they say.... then go from there.

did you have that sound all the time or only at about 2k rpm? mine sounds great when cold, and when driving, but when parked and rev to 2k rpm i hear it. Sometimes I hear it when i let go of gas too fast when driving, but other than that...sounds great when driving
