help with 2 trouble codes

Hello all.
My 91 F150 4x4, 4.9 E4OD, keeps setting 2 trouble codes. If anyone out there could give me a little help or guidance, I sure would appreciate it.
First code is 558,"Electronic vacuum regulator circuit failure".
The second one is 636,"Transmission oil temperature sensor voltage out of self-test range".
I dont have a whole lot of money to spend on this truck right now.Any help or advice would be most appreciated.
Thanks, Joe

The first code is probably a broken vac line going to the EVR, just to the right of the intake and the left of the coil.

The second means it is probably cold outside and you are doing the tests without first running the truck for a couple of minutes.

If you did run the truck for a few minutes to get it warmed up and it still gave you that error, then the sensor is probably bad.

The 558 code is an electrical fault, not a vacuum hose.

Look for an open EVR solenoid coil, unplugged EVR, faulty supply voltage, open circuit between EVR and PCM, or a faulty PCM driver.

To prevent the replacement of good components, be aware that the following non-EEC areas may at fault:

l Transmission fluid level

l Transmission operating temperature

l Ambient temperature

TE1 KOEO AND KOER SERVICE CODE 26 OR 636: INCREASE TRANSMISSION OIL TEMPERATURE

Service Code 26/636 indicates the output of the Transmission Oil Temperature (TOT) sensor was out of Self-Test range. The sensor output shows a failure occurred at either the low or high end of the acceptable range. The correct range of measurement is from 0.76 to 4.69 volts for Escort/Tracer and from 0.21 to 3.50 volts for all others.

Possible causes:

-- Transmission fluid not at operating temperature.

-- Sensor resistance out of limits.

-- Damaged processor.

l Drive vehicle through normal city traffic to bring transmission oil temperature to at least 10°C (50°F).

l Rerun «Quick Test».

l Is Code 26 or 636 present?

Yes
GO to «TE2».

No
TOT sensor OK. SERVICE other codes as necessary. RETURN to «Quick Test» to SERVICE other codes as necessary.

There's 2 solenoids together...are they replaced separately or as a set?
Also, where is the TOT ? Inside the pan?
Thanks....appreciate the help guys.
