Ford needs wheaties?

Still dealing with Too rich for me. 93 f150 4.9L 6
The little truck has had ACT, ECT, TPS, Coil, Fuel pressure regulator, all replaced. MAF shows good on my little Guccet Snap-on code reader- was codeing for ECT at one point, now reads fine - compression check is 150 down the block (all).
Check engine light is still on.......
Put it in gear and give it gas - wants to just die on the spot - no power/ carbon covers plugs/ and misses terrible!
Any ideas? STILL Love my Ford!
Thanks, Mike

check your plugs, thats all i can think of.

my friends jeep does the same thing. just dies after a few seconds of being on.

Clean the plugs and it works a short time - about two days - new plugs or cleaned plugs - It is like weak spark/rich mixture

I dont know if it's the same thing or not. My Jeep did something similar. Except nothing changed how it ran. Finally I went threw the entire engine bay with electrical cleaner and unplugged every connection I could find and cleaned it then plugged it back together. Man everything started working right again. It ran right, the headlights were brighter even the windshiled washer worked again. It was like I got a new Jeep. I had almost gave up but now it has lasted another 75,xxx miles. It might be worth a shot, especially since it sounds like you too have almost exhausted everything else...

Did you put new plug wires on it. They could be the source of your week spark.

Just a thought

JUST out of curiosity, you didn't install Champion plugs, did you? I have seen many a Champion eaten by Fords (not to mention an almost immediate carbon fouling of the plugs).

Air filter, clean? If K&N, overoiled? Do you have an extra coil, or do you have access to one, for troubleshooting? If wires were replaced, are they in the correct firing order and are they installed in clockwise/counterclockwise order as the distributor rotates? (does it even HAVE a distributor?)

Just my $.02.

Good luck
