hey i got a 94 f-150 and when i went ta start it the other day it sounded like well 2 little people makeing a sword under the hood! ping ,ping ,ping .
any way it sounded like a cat in the fan belt so i made sure there was no cat lol i popped the hood started it and it sounded like the fan was hitting something ,but when i spin it, it doesnt seem to the only thing i noticed was surpintine belt shaveings but i cant see nuthin touching ?
any ideads ?

could be pieces of your serpentine belt coming apart and hitting part of the fan shround making that sound. Check to make sure there arent any threads of your belt hanging off of it. Sounds like you need to replace it anyway.
For a good serp. belt, go to Autozone and get a Gatorback belt for about 25 bucks.

When you remove the belt, start it up briefly to see if it is still making the noise. If not, something driven by the belt is the cause. If so, you need to look at the engine itself for the cause of the noise. Don't run it long as the water pump will not be turning.
