Occasionally won't start

My driveway is on a slight incline and on occassion, with no pattern, my 4.6 won't start. I will attempt a few times and then have to wait 5 minutes and then she will turn over. The engine just won't turn over. Again, this is rather unpredictable. Any thoughts? Fuel pump relay?

My truck for no reason or warning the other day didn't start. and after repeated tries at jump starting and a new battery it still wouldn't start. it turned out to be a bad starter solenoid! (An $8.00 part)

Next time your truck won't start, first makes sure it isn't a PAT's issue by turning the key to "on" and making sure the "theft" light goes out after 3 seconds. if all else is normal but it won't start get a remote start switch or a bf screw driver and while the key is still in the "on" position bridge the two large posts on the solenoid and the truck should start. If not I am not sure what is wrong!

good luck!

Im a little confused. Do you mean the engine does not turn over or do you mean the engine always turns over but will not start running?

Sorry... it turns over, but never engages and starts running. It is almost like fuel never gets injected.
