2000 5.4 Triton Problems Help!!!!
Hello Everyone. I am new here so any help would be greatly appreciated. I just bought a 2000 F-150 with the Triton 5.4. After a week of happy driving It started running real rough. I hooked it up to a computer and it gave me a cylinder 7 misfire code. I replaced the coilpack and a new plug. After that it started reading a cylinder 5 misfire. I replaced the Throttle pos. sensor because it was reading 19.2% at idle. None of this has helped. It has no power the check engine light is on all the time. HELP ME PLEASE!! Do I need to keep replacing coil packs until the problem goes away????
Thanks

you might as well replace the plugs cause you'll have to remove the cop's to fix it.what you need are just the rubber boots for the cop's not the whole thing.the boots wear out and let water down in the hole causing it to misfire.they're about 5 bucks a piece, alot better than buying the whole cop

You need to get water out of the plug holes. You can remove the cop's and blow the water out with an air hose or if your engine runs let it idle for about 30 minutes.
The air hose method might prevent damage to the COP boots that could occur due to arc'ing.
I do not know beans about the length of time required for water in the spark plug hole to cause boot damage in a running engine.
