need help--> high RPM when in neutral
 

hi guys,
I am really bad with cars and dont know much about it. I have an old Honda Accord 1988 Automatic.

The problem started a year ago. When I put the gear to neutral, the RPM starts going to 2k and back to 1k and it issolates over and over. It looks like you are pressing on gas. It is fine on any other gears, even when you are waiting in traffic.

I got it fixed once and it cost me around $200, but it came back again. I asked people and they said it might be because of its timing. I dont know much about cars, but I was hoping maybe I could use your advice and try to fix my car this time myself.

Do you have the workorder from the previous time?

If we knew what they did last time that would be much more helpful...

Otherwise, I would suggest trying a Honda forum, they'd know more about that car...
