Bolt on performance! Need help!

I want to do some bolt on performance for my 2001 Supercrew. I am thinking about a Mass Air flow, CAI, Catback exhaust, Chip, Pulleys, Throttle Body Spacer, and maybe electric fans. What do you think of this set-up? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Are you doing this all at the same time?

I would start with the E-fans since that appears to be the best bang for buck install.

Next I would probably do CAI.

Then exhaust.

Then Chip.

Then pulleys.

You won't need a larger MAF with those mods.
Light the throttle body spacer money on fire and save the installation time.

Which of these mods would you think I would be best getting out of them all. Would I benefit by getting them all or just a few of them? Thanks!

you'd get the most gain if you go ahead and do em all.accept the t/b spacer, they really don't do anything but make it whistle.instead you can port the t/b and elbow and get a chip matched to your mods.i'd also recomend openin up the cats too either gut em or get some high flows or atleast a high flow y-pipe.

if you want seat of the pants difference BUY A SUPERCHARGER if you shop around you can find GOOD used setups or even dish a little out for a new unit. That will make u grin and you could cut to the chase. They are becoming fairly easy to install just do your homework. otherwise ditto what way fast said! Just my 2 cents!

I have found some parts that someone wants to sell. They have been used for 9 months and they include a CAI, MAF, T/B spacer, pulleys, and a superchip programmed for those parts. What should I consider when thinking about buying these parts? Should I shy away from the superchip or would it be no problem to reprogram it if need be? Thank you!

I just installed a www.macperformance.com 75mm Trottle body and CAI induction on my pickup today. The Seat of the Pants O'meter says it really gained some good power! I would suggest getting www.steeda.com underdrive pullies, they are on sale now for like $149 and you get three pullies not just two like with the ASP and some of the others. I've heard the E-fans are great, it appears that www.troyerperformance.com has the best E-fans kit going. if you need to compare shop look at the ones www.rpmoutlet.com have. I would get the troyer ones, which as funds allow will be one of my next mods. Then there's the SCT 9100 (Superchip Micro Tuner).....Troyer performance has these and everybody raves about how much more power they are getting out of these vs the 1715 micro tuner. Diablo Sport has a tuner out as well for the 4.6 and two days ago released their tuner for the 5.4! www.diablosport.com. Gears is another thing that will make the biggest difference in the acceleration of your p/up. I had two mustangs (00 GT & 01 Cobra) and nothing made those ponys run like going up a few sizes in the Rear end (changing out the ring & pinion gear) There are several places that sell these but I would arrage to have a professional install this due to the complexity and sensitivity of the install.

You guys just wait till I get all my mods done, I will be toasting HEMI's, as that is my goal for my pickup!

Beat HEMI or Bust!

Good Luck with your mods!

What do you guys think of the Superchips model 1100?? I found a used one that someone is trying to sell me. It is tuned for the MAF, CAI, pulleys, and TB that I may also buy from him. What is the best for me? Thanks!!

I would stay away from the single bank chips, they are old and out dated! Plus I personally don't think you'll gain much. I had one in my 2000 GT and after dynoing it I felt I really had wasted my money!

Get the tuner from Mike (www.troyerperformance.com)...that's what I'm gonna do after hearing everybody that has one rave about em!

* Throttle body spacer is a waste of money on these trucks - they work great for carburated motors

* You don't need a MAF yet... Not enough HP... any aftermarket MAF will put your truck into a lean condition... They need custom ecm tunes to get the truck to run right. The ford 90 mm MAF is cheaper and easiest one to tune, but do the mods in the best bang for buck order for best results...

* Top three bang for buck mods - Custom chip or tune - cat back exhaust (preferably Magnaflow) and intake kit...

Then you can get into E fans, underdrive pulleys, headers, throttle body, on and on and on....

Do some searches in the chips forum specificly on the throttle body spacer and the MAF... Hate to see you waste your money.....
