1700-1900 RPM Drone and Vibration

Anybody have an idea why I get a light drone sound and vibration (fealt in the pedals and floorboard) between 1700 and 1900 RPM? It doesn't matter what gear the tranny is in and it only happens when I am holding in the RPM range and when I am accelerating through that RPM range.

Thanks!

I have a Bassani cat-back that I'm changing the muffler on for that very reason.

My guess is that larger pipe sizes lower the pitch of the sound bringing it down to the resonant frequency of stuff around it.

Good excuse to get a set of gears.

Do you get the vibration in park at that rpm? I got it right after I installed a spin tech muffler.

Exclamation

I've got a similar problem, and have posted twice without a response It only started recently, like the last 10,000 miles. Still haven't taken it in to see what it may be. I will when I get to Florida next week.,,,,98

jstang: I haven't tried to reproduce it in park or neutral yet - will try tomorrow. It seems more noticable when going up a hill or when I have a load in the bed (like I did at Christmas).

I may have to wait to do anything about it until I get back from tech school with the Air National Guard. I am going to write up a detailed report for my wife so she can hand it to the dealer when they do the next oil change (got a free oil changes for life when I purchased the truck ).

Please keep me posted on anything anyone find though.
