`Enhanced DTC` code?
I had my codes read today because I have a flashing CEL, and I got a cylinder 8 misfire and an `Enhanced DTC` code, and all they could tell me for the `Enhanced DTC` was that their book said to consult the Ford shop manual. Anyone know what's going on with this?

That's all they told me, they didn't give me any number, he said that's all the code reader said was `Enhanced DTC`.

There are two types of codes. Generic, mandated by law to be available to be read by all, and those that are vehicle manufacturer spefcific sometimes called Enhanced DTCs.

Any code out of the range of the generic/universal OBDII codes is what's called "factory specific" codes. They are in the 1000 range example P1???. Sometimes you can substiture the 1 for a zero and find the same description. The code and desription is easily located and most are even listed in Chilton's, but we need the actual code.
