Question about changing the sparkplugs

I was just changing my 3rd spark plug on the driver's side, and noticed when I was taking it out it kind of would get slightly harder to turn and then easier and so on.

When I went to install the new one, it did the same thing when I was screwing it in. Is this normal, or could something be wrong with my head? The truck only has 13,000 miles on it. I figured it was just corrosion, and maybe a little WD-40 or something would help.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Be very cautious as these are aluminum heads and cross threading is very easy to do. I would monitor that plug periodically as to tightness, as these motors are known to launch plugs.

A little bit of Anti-Sieze never hurt anyone either. It helps prevent any galling from occurring. I always use Anti-Sieze on my plugs, it also helps with removal. A little dab will do ya!

offraod,

Were you using a U joint for that plug?
That will cause what you describe if it is not straight. What did the threads on the plug look like? Were they dirty?
