If you change your own oil, read some of these stories.
The Durango has a bit of a sludge problem that can cause the engine to go at 50k when oil pressure drops to 0. You better have your oil change recipts or it considered improper maintenance.

can we say that this would be a good reason to do oil analysis??
I'm sure OXD numbers would be through the roof.
If anyone of those folks would have taken the time to do an analysis, the numbers would have been clear. Then you could have taken this to the dealer, let them test the engine to confirm.

I think what we are dealing with here is a ****ty engine design. It sounds to me like this is Dodge, not the owner that is the problem. When people come to the dealer over and over again with low oil pressure and are told it's the sensor, there is something wrong with that dealer and I think Dodge is influencing how dealers handle this.
Also: You don't have to have your vehicle serviced by the dealer to keep your warranty valid unless the dealer or manufacturer are paying for the service. That's the law. Look at BMW. They have a 50,000 mile warranty and require dealer service, but BMW also pays for it. The owner just has to show up.
What a terrible situation they put these owners in.
