When I bought my truck, I scanned a copy of the window sticker into my computer. I was looking at it tonight and found that under oprional equipment, I have a "5600# GVWR Package". I realized that I have no clue what this is...Does anyone know?
the GVWR is the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating. i really have no idea what it is. i found a link to a thing that tells a little about it.

I have a 2001 reg cab swb V-6 5 speed and it too has 5600# GVWR pkg on the sticker. That's the basic standard pkg. GVWR= gross vehicle weight rating, which is the max weight allowable for vehicle, passengers, and cargo. In my case the truck weighs about 4000 # even, so I can haul haul about 3/4 of a ton.
I bought my truck off the lot. If I had ordered I could have purchased payload group #2 6000# GVWR. This would give me a slightly stiffer spring rate and HD shocks. You can check the specs at www.fordtruck.fordtraining.com
