Rpm @ 65 Mph

I was just wondering, how many rpms is everyone running when they're going steady at 65mph. I run at 1700 RPMs when I'm cruisin at 65. Just wondering if this was 'normal'.

Keeping in mind that your RPMs will vary depending on the rear gear ratio and tire size, I am running excactly 2,000 at 65 mph

3.55 gears and undersized tires

V-6, 5 speed, 3.55, 265/70/17s (stock) 2,000 RPM @ 65 mph. it appears to me that everything else being equal, the autos turn at lower rpms than the 5 speeds. have a friend with same tires and gears, his turns 1,700 rpm @ 65 but it's an automatic. is this consistent with what any of the rest of you are seeing?

p.s. i don't think it matters what engine you have. rpm should be a function of tires, gears, and possibly the transmission type.

I have a 5 speed with 265/75 BFG AT's and a 3.08 Rear end. I turn about 1840 RPM's in OD. In 4th gear i turn around 2200. Actually, i'm probably a little lower then that, since my speedo is off from the tires.
