Exclamation Code PO151

2013 F-150 XLT Ecoboost got the light this morning, had it scanned and the code came up as PO151 O2 Sensor Bank 2 sensor 1 ...Low voltage
Here is what comes up in search

P0151 OBD-II Diagnostic Powertrain (P) Trouble Code Description

P0151 OBD-II Trouble Code The front heated oxygen sensor (or O2 sensor 1) is placed into the exhaust manifold. It detects the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gas compared to the outside air. The heated oxygen sensor 1 has a cl P0151 code.

Reason For P0151 Code

The reason of P0151 OBD-II Engine Trouble Code is Fuel Rail/System Pressure - Too High

How bad is this ? the engine runs smooth ...no sputtering ..smooth as can be
Now Im having a hard time making it to the dealer for the next week unless this is very harmful..

Thanks
P

I don't know where you found THAT reason - it's not totally correct..

Causes

A code P0151 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:

Faulty o2 oxygen sensor
Short to voltage on O2 signal circuit
High resistance or open on O2 signal circuit

Possible Solutions

Replace faulty sensor
Repair short, open, or high resistance on o2 signal circuit

P0151 FORD - O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage Bank 2 Sensor 1

Possible causes
  • Faulty Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 2
    • Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 2 harness is open or shorted
      • Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 2 circuit poor electrical connection
        • Inappropriate fuel pressure
          • Faulty fuel injectors
            • Intake air leaks may be faulty
              • Exhaust gas leaks

Tech notes

Replacing the Front Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 2 usually takes care of the problem

If it's running okay, it's safe to drive for a while.

  • UO2S circuit short to voltage or ground
  • UO2SGREF circuit short to voltage or ground

Only one problem with that - it's a P0151, not a P0150. The P0151 is low voltage, P0150 is a general malfunction.

Bottom line - a bad O2 sensor or associated wiring. Get it fixed as soon as possible, it may be running rich, which is hard on the cats.
