P016 isn't a code - there are 4 characters after the "P".

He's asking you want we're all thinking, what's going on here? You have listed what looks like half of an email conversation or personal notes. Without a complete back story we're completely lost. You don't have to pay by the word here so please type out the full story so we know what you're talking about.

Same issues on my 2011 EB. Has run like a champ since day one, I change the oil regularly with full synthetic, and it hasn't had so much as a hiccup in the last 6 years. I pass 60k miles and shortly after I start hearing a weird grinding sort of noise when the turbos spool up and down, followed by loss of power on hills and the highway. Error code P0299 pops up, I clear it, pops up again a day later. I clear it one more time and shortly after P0016 pops up, so clearly something is legitimately wrong. I take it to my local mechanic and get the bad news: stretched timing chain. Ford knows about it, released a TSB a year ago. Here I am high and dry a year late on the powertrain warranty and on the hook for $2000-2500. Awesome. I'll call Ford tomorrow for all the good that will probably do, but at least they'll have one more diehard Ford customer that is less than pleased or impressed logged in whatever database they keep such things logged in.

Reach out to ford politely, If you are original owner they will help. They are actually very good.
While there in there have them put in a new waterpump $90 it is internal and timing chain must come off anyway. There have been issues with these also.

We have a stretched chain on our Explorer Sport and are past the powertrain warranty so we are looking at a similar repair bill ($2200). Would you mind telling us (or me) what Ford did to help? I called and talked to them about the repair and they are going to look into it, but I saw this so I thought I would check to see what help they provided.
