Whatever it is, a Ford dealer should have it.

Not only a drain plug for what. what's the matter with yours?

And, it's under warranty. It should be covered for things like that, unless your "mechanic" screwed it up by cross threading it or something. If he did that, HE should replace it.

I'm sure it's under warranted, but I did not want to have to deal with them if I don't have to. As to the vehicle.... See above, it's a 2015 f 150 v6 2.7 turbo. I got it in September but due to my job have to have an oil change every 3 weeks (5000 miles) and the plug is plastic with two "ears" on it for removal. With the heating and cooling that occurs, the "ears become brittle, and one has broken off. Sounds like a poor design on fords part........

Just stick a 1/4" or 3/8" drive ratchet into the square hole and use that instead. That's what it's there for. The plastic plug is great because it stops a gorilla in a mechanic shirt from going ham and tearing up the composite pan.

What I failed to mention, is that you don't have to go to the dealers to buy one...

You can do it right on line... I recommend Tasca Auto Parts.

http://www.tascaparts.com/

They seem relatively cheap enough to keep a couple handy in the glove compartment.

They look pretty disposable... no different than copper crush washers.

I've had good luck over the years with tascaparts. I recommend them.
