Question Where to jack up 2014 F-150 for Oil Change?

I am having a serious time getting my truck jacked up for an oil change. This is my first oil change on m '14 EcoBoost and it seems that Ford is making it tougher for doing your own service.

I have ramps, but those weren't near high enough for me to get under the truck (ramps are only about 6" high.

I only have one hydraulic jack and there is just nowhere to lift this thing up without another jack (in which I could put one on the area where the A arm connects to the frame).

How in the hell do I change my oil on this sucker?

Either you're a big ol' boy or your truck is lowered quite a bit. How much higher do you need to lift it?

The frame rail is plenty strong enough to support the truck. I would highly recommend getting some quality jack stands to use when the truck is in the air.

6'1" 180 lbs - far from it my friend. My truck is not lowered. Thanks.

Regardless...I don't remember any of my previous Ford's having such a low "undercarriage"

Maybe I just need to get some higher ramps.

The front end is lower because of the new crash standards. The lower air dam hangs down a good bit to smooth out the airflow under the truck at speed. That might be what's causing you trouble. Try sliding until the truck at a 45* angle between the tire and front corner. This will put you just outside of the air dam and in the perfect spot to reach the filter. If you're at stock height the drain plug shouldn't be a problem to get to.

Damn man, these oil changes are super simple. I jacked my '14 up by the driver side a-arm. I wanted the truck to lean a little to the passenger side to help with the draining the oil. I used ramps the first time and the oil got all over the sway bar. Jacking it up on the drivers side eliminated that.

I had a 2wd F150 with the EB.. a few pumps of the jack and it was in the air..

You should have no problem crawling under it.

I did an oil change on my Raptor this weekend and I didn't even need a jack lol
