Redlining Ecoboost ?

Just curious, i don't usually punch it real hard but the other day getting on the interstate i didn't want to be behind a rock truck. Was going 35/40 on the entrance ramp when i punched it and notice when it downshifted the rpms got up to about 6200 or 6300! (redline is 5800 i think). sure the computer won't let it get too high, but what's too high? +500 seems a bit much.

Actually the fuel cutoff is around 6500RPM from what I remember. All of the WOT shift points are 6k+. Redline on these trucks is just an abstract marking on the tach as not all trucks even have it marked. If you haven't changed the stock settings there's no way you can over rev the engine.
