It's been a while since I started this post and in one of my most recent responses I stated things appeared to have gotten better after switching to premium fuel and fully synthetic oil. Well .... It seems that really didn't make any difference after all. Now that we're running temperatures back in the 90s and above here in Texas, the fans have started to come on full force and frequently again.

My truck is parked in the garage and in the afternoons, as soon as I start it, those jet engines come on.

Also, as a previous poster stated, it becomes annoying really quick when going through a drive-thru.

I love my truck, but this is definitely a huge gripe I have with it.

Same Problem w/2011 v8

I have a 2014 F150 Ecoboost. I traded a 2012 5.0 for it. The first time those fans came on when I started it, I thought something was wrong. Once I got up to speed (50mph or so), they shut off. Never noticed the same thing on the 2012. I have been really impressed with the additional torque the Ecoboost offers, really helps get my travel trailer moving from a stop.

The same people don't understand it takes a lot of air movement for the A/C to work.

The real question is why do you have the window down when the A/C is on? Roll the window up and you won't hear the fan.
Total non-sense post and by the way, the windows are up and you still hear the annoying fans!

My 2014 Ecoboost just hit 1500 miles and I now have the fan noise. I would've never bought the truck if I had heard this noise on the test drive. Not sure what to do about it.

There is nothing you can do, Ford says they made the fans come on more because of complaints about poor ac performance.

Funny thing is, comparing to my wife's edge and sons explorer, you never hear theirs!

It will get worse for you, wait until you go through a drive thru window!

Late tomorrow, in weather like this week mine is on/off/on/off/on/off. I have rolled my window down when I pull up next to other fords and never hear a thing.

Let me just say this. If you had cranked up and heard the fan noise when you test drove your F-150 Ecoboost would you still have bought the truck? I bought the F-150 because it was very quiet, very little engine noise or exhaust noise.
Than fan is a hidden, not well engineered bandaid to buyers because the cooling system wasn't large enough in the first place. JMHO.
Other than the faulty cooling system the truck seems to be perfect, but now that I have the unexpected fan noise, what other surprises are lurking?
Ford needs to step up.

I think with mine, if it came on and stayed on, it would be more tolerable. But depending upon temps now, its on/off, on/off, on/off!

I have yet to pull up next to another and hear theirs doing this.

Here's a video of mine. The cell phone recording of it doesn't even come close to portraying the magnitude of it since the software considers the engine sounds as noise and does it's best to filter it down.

Kicks on about 40s in.

I bought my truck in April in West Texas.. It was 95 to 100 degree's. The fans were on when i opened the hood before ever taking to for a test drive. Not a surprise to me.
