Just an update.
I borrowed a 2012 Ecoboost Lariant Screw with max tow and 3.73s. Pulled my boat and was getting 14mpg, weight is around 3000-3200 depending on gas and gear. This is a monstrous improvement over my current 2012 Tundra 5.7 which averages 10.5-11mpg with the same boat.

14 mpg towing 3k at 60 mph is about what you would expect if you have an EB that gets expected mileage instead of one of those that has sucked from day 1 (which there seems to be quite a few of here). However, I'd bet that towing 9k at the speed limit or higher will send it down to single digits.
I test drove one that sucked - I reset the computer, took it out, drove it NORMALLY, and got 14. This wasn't in city traffic either - a few 45 mph roads with traffic lights and a stretch of expressway at 70.

On a good note, looks like my Truck build date is October 1st.

I'd like to chime in on towing. We bought a 2012 Ecoboost screw HD payload 157" wheelbase 373 rear w/Max Tow pkg and a Husky equilizer hitch with sway control at the end of June. We drove it 6000 miles so far and towed our 2013 Jayco Eagle 32' TT (7500 lbs) into the mountains in TN and GA. It towed like a beast. My husband said when we were driving on the flats on cruise he didn't even feel the trailer on the back, and there was a very slight sway when passed by a Semi. We stopped at a scale at LOVE's and got weighed with our total combined weight being 14,400 lbs so we are good and will stick with how we are packed since the max combined weight is just over 17,000 lbs
