Most miles on Ecoboost?

Who has the most miles on their Ecoboost?

Looking to get back into a F150, possibly a 2013. I'm thinking of going with the Ecoboost but am curious how reliable they are once the mileage gets up over 100k. With it being out in F150's close to 2 years there has to be some high mileage trucks out there!

If you have high miles post up with a quick reliability report!

You're right there has to be some with a good bit of miles on theirs. Mine is just over a year old and has just over 15k. Running great. I've only had it in for warranty work once. That was the seat was making a squealing noise when it was moved.

I think they said the 2014s could be the first year they lighten the trucks up 700lbs by using more aluminum. Personally I am very interested in a eco boost once this happens. Even if nothing motor wise changes it will be a huge gain in MPG and MPH at the track.

Not gonna happen, Ford released a statement after the WSJ did the story.

I have 37k on my 2011. It has only been back to Ford once to have the ECM flashed to get the latest shift strategy for the tranny. It seems to have cleaned up some of the erratic behavior the 6 speed can have every once in a while. I picked up a 2001 Jetta a few months ago to slow down how quickly the miles were getting racked up on the truck. Otherwise I would be well over 40k by now.

Our company trucks, have over 80k on them right now, with just minor issues, for bouncing up and down oil field roads.

Before buying I'd suggest reviewing this website. It's owned by the same folks as F150 online so there shouldn't be an issue with the link. If it's still a forum violation, search for ford ecoboost forums dot com, then find the 3.5 EB, then find the F150 section. Here's the linky:

As with any new technology, you are the test dummy when you buy one. There's only so much test mules can tell the makers. YOU are the real world testing for any new technology regardless of brand.

thanks Labnerd... good link... for me the Ecoboost has the perfect specs. I am fervently waiting for the lightbulb moment when the root cause is found and solves all known problems. For sure I will never buy one of these without an extensive road test first!

If new technology was never used we would all still be driving around in Stanley Steamers. The only thing even relativity new on the EB is the Direct Injection which has been used on autos for over 10 years now. Talk to any service adviser at a Ford dealer, the EB has been an extremely trouble free motor. In fact most of the one I have talked to either already own one or are planing on buying one. If the guys that write the repair tickets are buying them, they really can't be all that bad.

I ran into a guy at our local tire shop the other day with a 2011 XLT Supercrew 4x4 with the EcoBoost. I asked him how he liked it and how many miles it had. He said the only problem he had was a catalytic convertor being replaced by Ford.....

Oh.....and he just rolled over 130,000 miles!

I've got a 2012 screw EB 4x4 w/ 3.73 that was built on January 17, it arrived at dealer on Feb 3. Miles to date - 43301. If the dang thing had been sitting in the shop for over a month it would probably be over 50k. i'm a crop consultant and avg 5 - 6k miles a month, but mine has had a light surg/misfire during light acceleration around 55 mph. its not the misfire after driving in the rain - you can have the cruise set and start up a slight hill - not enough to downshift to 5th, but enough to load up converter. they gave me a loaner, but it'll be on the pe-owned lot when they get it back. Give me a little more time i'll find out what it's made of. after 3 years of gravel roads & turn rows their usually done. my 09' was the exact same truck only had the 5.4L - odo showed 211k the day i picked up the eco

2011 f-150 screw with Ecoboost. 67,000 miles. No issues! Had one mis fire over a year ago in misty rain all day. Pulled over restarted and never happened since. Love this engine! Blows my old 5.4 liter away! Took 3 trips with 6000 lb boat (7000 total payload)in tow this year. Hardly knew t was there. Total trailered mileage for all trips 1200 miles. Avg towing at 72mph 13.5mpg. Daily driving (no load) 73-78mph 20.4mpg.

I just got back from a 3,000 mile round trip from Fla to upstate NY and averaged 17.2 mpg. I saw it around 14 and once it hit 19 and that is the best it ever has done. Total milage to date is a little over 4,500 so it's really still new. I was driving for most of the day in light rain coming through Pa. and did have it stumble on my trying to pass another truck. Almost felt like it lost 3 cyl's and even downshifted all the way down to 3rd gear. I bought it because of the advertised 20+mpg so I'd better start seeing that pretty soon or I'm not going to be very happy. I will say though that it has a LOT more accelleration then my '09.
