I have a question. Does anyone else hear something that sounds like valve's clicking on there V-6 when they hit the gas while moving? e.g. Your going about 45 mph then you hit the gas and you hear the valve's making this noise. I hear it when hulling a load and giving it gas to go faster. It's not a loud noise but I can hear it if I listen for it with the radio turned down. I thought it was because of low octaine gas but it does this with 93 octaine too. I have 34000 mi. on my truck. So I might bring it in just in case. What do you all thank about this. The computer must be adjusting your timing for some reason. You might have a bad sensor or a hose disconnected or something. Definitely get it checked out.

Yeah i would get it checked out its better to be safe than sorry especially when your approaching that 36,000 mark. As for me experiencing this problem i am on my second 4.2 a 98 and now a 2000 and have never had any problems like that.

It might be the fuel injectors.

Will guys I had the noise checked out by the dealer today first I could not get the truck to make the noise, you know how that is. Well the sevice guy rode with me and if you listen really hard while going about 65 mph. then giving it gas you could hear valve clater very brefly. He say that this was normal. He said going to a higher octaine gas might stop it. But I told him I had done that already and it did not help. But he said not to worry that they all do it if you listen very carefully like I was doing. Well at least I have it reported. Thanks to all for the info. Foots.
