Bucking/cutting out

Right around 1000 rpms if I tromp the gas pedal, the motor hesitates. Reminds me of misfiring but it usually only does it once, maybe twice and is quite noticeable.

This is an 06 with 49000 miles and a five speed.

Suggestions?

Have you ever changed the fuel filter? Have you checked the FPDM for corrosion?

Filter was changed a year ago.

I have not, and after doing a little research on this forum, I'll crawl under and take a look. Seems like this is a common problem.

it could still be a misfire, my truck did that when one of the COPs had moisture in it, but only up to a certain RPM and then it would act normal

The 4.2 does not have COPs.

To the OP: Remove the FPDM and thoroughly inspect the back of it as well.
