So i have a ticking noise, its not there until the truck warms up. Was wondering if anyone had any ideas on this one. Sounds like it is on the drivers side. I know I have an exhaust leak around the head and the manifold, could that be the noise I am hearing?

 

Sure could be, exhaust manifold leaks usually sound like a ticking noise. More info on the truck!

hi my names nick i also have a ticking problom in my motor its a 97 f150 supercab with 93,000 miles on it any ideas?!?!

 

I would start with the exhaust manifolds. Could just be a gasket on the manifolds. When you say that it only does it when it warms up that is metal in there expanding and possibly causing the ticking. I vote for the manifolds. Good luck man!

 

i thought it was my lifters or injectors ? is tht possibe

 

Mine does the same thing. Just got back from my mechanic and it seems to be the lifters. Going to replace both sets next week. Will let you know how it comes out..
