4.2 short & long block

4.2 short & long block
Anybody know what Ford charges for a new 4.2 short block and for a new 4.2 long block? Need source for a low mileage engine in the south east U. S., any thoughts?

From Ford I'd guess $2,000-3,000. A '97 long
block with everything but the tranny and say
50k miles from the junkyard probably $900.
And I need the heads and intakes. So go
ahead and call local junkyards and if they
have one buy it and I'll give ya $400 for
the heads and intakes. So you're cost will
be $500 for the shortblock. Think about it

I will be buying an engine within the next few weeks and I will keep you in mind. I may buy a totaled vehicle provided I can locate one with low miles. I have another person wanting a long bed. If I could find a such a vehicle that was killed in the side of the cab maybe we all could benefit. The heads and intake that I have are good with 44019 miles on them.

I am pleased to hear that you are happy with your parts. I try to treat people like I want to be treated. Keep in mind that I also have a good 4.2 block, cam, pistons, roller lifters, salvageable crank. In the classifieds over on the left side of the message board is an individual by the name of Luther Fleming 301 343 8226 in Bowie MD. that does not live up to his commitments. Without personal integrity, one has nothing!
