4.2 coil/ignition problem
1998 4.2 v6
last week while on the way home from work my truck picked up a bad miss almost like it was hitting on only 4 cyl. pulled into advanced auto and the guy plugged it up and said the coil was bad. i changed the coil and it ran great for 45 seconds then started the same problem. put a timing light on it and it has very erratic spark on front to coil leads. put the old coil back on and it continued to run with erratic spark thought i may have bought a bad coil so bought a ford coil and after install it ran great for about a min the it too started the same thing this coil actually split on the bottom and black plactic ozzzed out
where do i go from here
