water pump leak 4.2

Exclamation water pump leak 4.2

this leak is driving me nuts.i cant find where it leaking from not comeing out of the weep hold on the top of the pump,or seal bottom of pump is wet on pass side,it looks like some type of freeze plug ,,and the gasket has been changed still leaking!!!any one had this trouble..thanks

If it's a 97, it's the timing cover gasket. Replace it with one from a dealer and you will not have it happen again. It was upgraded.

its a 97 i dont know the build date on the engine there is only a sticker the says renewl by ford?? 18000 one hundred eighty thousand miles,i have no water in the oil ,i am now wondering if it the freeze plug or that tube that runs to the heater hoses that goes in the water pump,one bolt holds it in..i checked the timeing cover i dont see any leaks there,,thanks for your help..i was told the engine blew at 50 thousand and was replaced by ford reman the water is around that freeze plug,,
