rattle in 4.2

hi all, new to forum. My 4.2 1998 150 has a slight tick at about 2500 rpm that comes and goes everytime i keep engine at or around that rpm. It will clatter all the time if i maintain 2000 rpms, but does not make any noise if i accel hard or short shift. Im almost leaning toward a bad rocker or lifter. Engine runs great, doesnt burn or leak any oil has 140k and a cold air kit. Also gets pretty good fuel mileage. Any help would be appreciated

there are 2 brackets that are attached to your exhaust manifolds, one on each side of the engine.

theyre probably broken, so remove them.

He's talking about the engine lifting brackets, but if the dipstick is loose, that could be what it is.
