Removing Passenger side Spark Plugs
Removing Passenger side Spark Plugs
Went to change my plugs tonight (yes I used factory motorcrafts). Drivers side went ok, got it done, on to the passenger side and there is a line (fuel?) running just behind the plugs and I can't get any wrench in there to get the plugs out, its just too tight. Finally gave up but don't want to be driving around long with 3 new 3 old plugs. Can someone tell me the trick to getting the passenger side plugs out?
OK second question. I didn't realize these had special torque specifications (I'm new to big engines, used to outboards) on outboards I always just hand tighten and feel for when its seated by holding the ratchet at the head. Thats how I tightened my plugs tonight they were snug, seated well but not too tight, they ain't coming out either. I didn't use a torque wrench, should I?
Also will it hurt to drive with 3 new 3 old until I have time to pull the tire and get the passenger side plugs changed?

That's still better than six old. It's not like changing 3 quarts of oil now, then 3 more quarts later.
I use a 3/8" drive universal plug socket, with a short extension and a regular 3/8" ratchet.. It's a standard plug socket with a universal joint built onto it. You might have to look around your local auto supply stores to find one, but it works well for getting at that pesky right rear plug. Using a seperate universal with a standard plug socket doesn't work nearly as well.
