Raptor's Dyno Day
the only way to see 270hp out of a 4.2L V6 is with a turbocharger/supercharger and a built engine (cam, pistons, rods, etc)
why? Direct drive is 4th
and a 4.2 will usually outlast a 4.6 all day every day
since when in the heck do firefighters make 85k? i am friends with a firefighter 3/luitenant/ paramedic out here and he makes 88k a year, starting out firefighters here make about 40k a year and we are within the top 5 wealthiest fire departments in the country lol
go ahead and try it, your driveline won't survive, to max out your motor in 4th will be like 150+ MPH
2nd gear with OF off and you'll be fine as long as the dyno operator knows how to make the adjustments...
Come on you know its true, your 4.2 will blow his doors off. He's a troll, a V6 that sounds just like a v8 but better....
Keep talking....
Doubt it, 105k and V6 is done. Died today. R.I.P. 4.2 V6

I think Raptor has a 5 speed manual on his 4.2
Maybe your 4.6 revs higher than his 4.2.
110 mph+- in 4th for a 4.2 liter w/5 speed sounds about right to me if the speed limiter is removed. There are some 'calculators' you can plug into on line that will calculate your speed if you know the rpm, transmission ratios (1.0 for him in 4th gear), final drive ratio and tire size.

But 5,200 rpm is well past the power peak, on the 4.2 anyways. Maybe it would pull that on a dyno, but I think a 4.2 would be hard pressed to push the wind anywhere near that hard.
Blue Oval - what rpm were you turning? Speedometers are often very inaccurate above 100+ mph. You must have a very strong running truck if you are doing a true 130 mph without breaking a sweat.
