P0171 is bank 1 (passenger side) too lean, and P0300 is random misfire. It probably needs a tuneup (spark plugs, wires, etc.) but you should check for vacuum leaks. If the engine build date is prior to 1/15/98 your lower intake gaskets may be leaking coolant into the cylinders, and that's a VERY bad thing.
this truck had that hydro lock happen, it had 89,000 miles on it, and they put a jasper motor in it. the truck has 121,000 on it now. the truck was a fleet truck for a goverment hospital, and they had the motor put in. so i should start with the plugs and wires? i checked the milage and im getting 16 mpg, and when im going down the road , it runs good, but not so good when stoped in gear, thanks jim
hey GLC thanks, we have a big snow storm moving in tomorrow so i put the truck in the garage, and im going to check the stuff that you said to. and my ford dealer had to order the plug wires and if they come in tomorrow i will do the plugs, and wires. i will let you know how it go's , jim
