Something For 4.2 Owners to have "Just In Case"....

This is a small text document I made a month or so ago, whit miscellaneous info I found on v6f150.com....

You fellow 4.2 owners can bust this out anytime someone gives you crap about being a V6.

------------------------------------------4.2 Rules!------------------------------------------

The '97-'04 4.2 V6 has 202 HP and 252 lb/ft TQ
The '97-'98 4.6 V8 has 220 HP and 280 lb/ft TQ
The '99-'04 4.6 V8 has 231 HP and 293 lb/ft TQ
The '97-'98 5.4 V8 has 235 HP and 330 lb/ft TQ
The '99-'04 5.4 V8 has 260 HP and 350 lb/ft TQ

4.2 Liters = 256 CI = .700 liters/cylinder.
4.6 Liters = 281 CI = .575 liters/cylinder.
5.4 Liters = 330 CI = .675 liters/cylinder.

4.2 Liters = 256 CI = 42 2/3 cubic inches/cylinder.
4.6 Liters = 281 CI = 35 1/8 cubic inches/cylinder.
5.4 Liters = 330 CI = 41 1/4 cubic inches/cylinder.

The '97-'04 4.2 puts out 0.789 HP per cubic inch and 0.984 lb/ft per cubic inch.
The '97-'98 4.6 puts out 0.783 HP per cubic inch and 0.996 lb/ft per cubic inch.
The '99-'04 4.6 puts out 0.822 HP per cubic inch and 1.043 lb/ft per cubic inch.
The '97-'98 5.4 puts out 0.712- HP per cubic inch and 1.000 lb/ft per cubic inch.
The '99-'04 5.4 puts out 0.787- HP per cubic inch and 1.061 lb/ft per cubic inch.

The '97-'04 4.2 makes 33 2/3 HP per cylinder and 42 lb/ft per cylinder.
The '97-'98 4.6 makes 27 1/2 HP per cylinder and 35 lb/ft per cylinder.
The '99-'04 4.6 makes 28 7/8 HP per cylinder and 36 5/8 lb/ft per cylinder.
The '97-'98 5.4 makes 29 3/8 HP per cylinder and 41 1/4 lb/ft per cylinder.
The '99-'04 5.4 makes 32 1/2 HP per cylinder and 43 3/4 lb/ft per cylinder.

You should also research and post the numbers for the old 4.9, 5.0, and 5.8........

True. I shall do that. Thanks for the idea glc! I will do that over lunch.

I'm going to do the 351W as well. Should I put the Triton V10 as well? Lol

I thought about including the L and HD, but decided it would ruin everything.

Same here. My dad had an '89 2wd Single cab w/ a 4.9 rolling on 33's. He said he could spin the tires from a stop. I need to find that old pic as well as their old Maroon '79 on 33's.

I will even agree with both of you on that. But there's nothing more suprising than a whistle or whine coming from a 4.2 either.

7.3 Powerstrokes sound awesome too!
