Rough Idle, Engine Dying, no start and CEL Fixed!

I pulled back my wires that were sitting on top of the A/C accumulator using a large zip-tie.

I could see where it looked like there had been some arcing happening.

Now, with the wires tied back, it has been about a week or so and the CEL P0117 is gone, the rough idle and periodic dying went away almost immediately. No more problems starting. On the drive home (I tied the wires back at the office), I noticed more power and a much smoother drive, that's when the CEL light went off.

Here's the thread that made me look:

I am one really happy camper now!

do you have pics of what you did and where it is located so i can check mine also ??

I don't have any pics, but check this thread - I fixed it so that this link actually works.

On about the 4th page, someone posted pics. The A/C accumulator is the cylinder that is marked in red, it is up under the wiring harness. Mine had a bit more room between the harness and the accumulator, and mine is all silver, this one has some kind of black cover that partially covers it.

just pull any wiring away from the accumulator and secure them with tape or wire ties or something - I did this even though most of the wires were insulated and wrapped.
