How do I reset the CEL on my 4.2L V6?

No one knows how to clear the check engine light???

 

Disconnect the negative battery cable, pull the headlights on and wait for 15 minutes.

Reconnect battery cable and start. Don't be surprised if the needles on all of your gauges go to the max setting and back. That's normal.

hey every morning my gauges max out then go back...they have been doin that for a week....Does that mean my truck is automatically reseting the CEL?

 

Turn the headlights off before you reconnect the battery or you'll get a little surprise.
