My old-fart's opinion (you asked for it) is loud cars and trucks suck. Especially if you are driving through my neighborhood.

Keep your quiet stock exhaust. If you need to be noticed, paint some flames on your truck or dye your hair blue. :)

anybody got any better suggetions. other than complaining ones

Yeah, go with 40's dumped right after the muffler!

hillbillyford 05-10-2004 07:43 PM

how good does it sound. is it better dual are just single pipe. what do u have? thank ya

sk8inrj1 05-10-2004 08:22 PM

Well ive got a single in and out 40 series muffler with the stock pipe after it and exiting in the stock location. It sounds really nice at idle. If you rev it, and the revs come down, it pops, but i have yet to hear ANY popping while ime driving. The cab noise on the freeway is damn near zero. You can see my set up in my other gallery in my profile

do u think it would be louder if i put two pipes with two 40 series mufflers and 22"/3" tips. would i lose power or gain power. thank ya :beers:

sk8inrj1 05-10-2004 11:48 PM

If you go true duals with 2 mufflers, you will definately loose powe if you do not step down in size with the pipes. I think if you do true duals to go to two 2.25 inch pipes or two 2 inch pipes to retain power. And yes it will be louder

hillbillyford 05-11-2004 04:36 PM

so if i get 2.25" pipes and two origanal 40 series flowmaster with 22"/3" tipes it would be loud on the inside and very loud on the outside. or should i get sraight pipes. thank ya

When you put tips that exit at the rear, you will have less in cab noise. But overall that should pretty loud since your getting 2 muffers.
