Unhappy Service Engine Soon light back on

The light is back on, again....

I already changed the gas cap, disconnected the battery, light was out for about 20 miles, came back on...

I then changed the EGR Valve, disconnected the battery, light was out for about 1,000 miles, came back on...

Now, I cleaned the TB with a TB Cleaner, disconnected the battery, light went out, came back on about 50 miles later...

Then, with no maintenance, I disconnected and reconnected the battery, it ran "light free" for about 10 miles, then it came back on.

What else can it be?

The code pulled was EGR Airflow Restriction p0401 I believe.

PS: Since nobody answered my previous thread, does anybody have any solid facts about an Air Induction System?

PO401 lack of EGR flow. Plugged egr ports, bad DPFE sensor,no vaccum to egr valve. With engine running apply vaccum to egr valve. If engine starts to run rough or stalls ports are not plugged. If ports aren't plugged Iwould suspect DPFE sensor.

Thanks. I'll look around at the local NAPA and AutoZone for a replacement. Are they pricey?

Got the DPFE at the Ford Dealer in Elkton, MD. It was kind of pricey, $89.00. But, I got the old out, new one in, and dis/reconnected the battery. Light is out for now. We'll find out on the drive to work tomorrow. I hope this is it. Already went through a Gas Cap, EGR Valve, and Cleaned the TB.

Wish me luck !!!!

Did you test your old sensor? I think there is away to test my checking reistsnace between contacts. Check the service manual but I am pretty sure you can test them.

No. I didn't check it. As much as it caused the light to come on and all the headaches later, I gave it a nice little heave ho about a country mile.... I think it is somewhere in the Chesapeake Bay by now.

Just kidding, it is in the trash in the garage.

Thanks fellas
