I dumped an old style (not Delta) 50 series before the rear axle with a turn-down. It's louder than if I had it exit to the side, but I don't mind it. I called Flowmaster and told them what I was planning and they warned me it would be louder. Wife or daughter has never complained after many years, so it can't be too bad . . .

my 97 stand cab short bed dumped in front of the right rear wheel. i recently found out there was a technical bulliten published that they changed that because the exhaust tarnished the center caps of the wheels. which it does. of course this was after i put on a new cat back system.

i have 2 edelbrock RPM's Y'd and dumped and IMO they are the best sound that you can get out of a 4.2.

they are not that loud in the cab but produce a mellow growl that sounds really good for a V6.
